Eating for Your Age

Healthy Eating For Fitness
The world is full of a lot of fad diets, pills and other odd programmes to lose weight but have you ever looked at dieting based on your age group? Most people don’t think about their age when it comes to losing weight and really, why should they? What does age have to do with it? The answer is – EVERYTHING! There are many diets on the market specifically made for younger people and for this reason; they do not work on someone older.

As we age our bodies obviously change in more way than one, our bodies need more or less of certain foods to keep them running properly. People in their 30’s and 40’s may need more fruits and vegetables than someone in their teens or twenties. We tend to not be as active as we age. That’s why we need to adapt to eating foods that will work with us and not against. Once you work out what you should be eating according to your age group, you will start to feel a change in the way your body reacts and over time, we start to feel better and better.

Everything from feeling more energy and mental clarity can be achieved by eating properly for your age group. Activity levels have a great deal of influence on your diet as well. You can be of an older age and still be as active as a 20 year old. However, your body still needs more of the foods which help turn it into energy.

Once you know what foods work for you and keep you going strong, you won’t even be tempted to grab those fat laden snacks. You will actually crave healthier foods because you want to stay feeling good. Not to mention the energy levels you thought were long gone.

Learning the right foods to eat for a certain age groups and knowing which vitamins and minerals your body needs most at different times in your life will change your outlook on dieting. Once you start feeling good and losing weight, your new diet will become a lifestyle routine, just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower.

I am heading quickly towards 70 and heavy all my life, born heavy before weighing came in. NOw regretting life style earlier not healthy at all. Weight now not coming off, Suggested grazing with raw veg, yes it does work and then the usual , put some back on. Life problems come into this I understand now and there have been plenty of these. But that is in the past. and so happy now, but still wanting to lose weight. Never had alcohol or smoked, but chocolate was the problem and I have practically dealt with that now. So interested in what you suggest for me, getting ona bit but extremely busy person.
