Eating to Beat Common Ailments

Most of us walk around every day with common health problems like aches and pains, constipation, bloating, fatigue, headaches and insomnia for example. Maybe we know have an idea about some of them but just don’t know how to overcome the symptoms. You may think that it’s just the way you are and there’s nothing to be done for it. Well, it may surprise you to know a great deal of the common ailments can be related to your weight, how and what we eat daily.
Depending on what may be bothering you physically, a lot of it starts with how we feel about ourselves. If you don’t like yourself you are less likely to care about what you eat or take care of yourself in other areas of your life. This makes you feel worse and this, again, makes you care less about your appearance. It’s a snowball rolling down a hill and just gets worse over time. A vicious cycle if you will.
Some common ailments that can be helped and sometimes flat out fixed are in direct relation to what you eat. Here are a few of these most common ailments:
* IBS - This condition is caused by stress and a bad diet. If you have IBS what you eat is most likely the irritant causing the problems. Follow Stage 1 in the Real Life Diet book, published by Piatkus, to determine whether your symptoms are food related and perhaps read the book No More IBS, published by Vermilion.
* Cystitis - This is an inflammation of the bladder due to a bacterial infection. To help this condition, drink a lot of water and cranberry juice (unsweetened) to help naturally fight the bacteria.
* Menopause - Eating a lot of fresh fruit and veggies and dairy products, along with drinking plenty of water during the day will help lesson the symptoms. Soya products including soya milk and tofu as well as other organic foods can also help balance hormones naturally.
No matter what may be ailing you, it’s a safe bet you can find foods designed to help you relieve symptoms or even reverse the conditions.
