Why are so many of us overweight? Why, when we've finished dieting, do we just pile the weight back on? To make sure we shed those pounds and stay off, we have to be happy within ourselves. THE REAL LIFE DIET: Get the balance right and never have to diet again, health guru Maryon Stewart's latest book, will help you find a harmony in your life and an eating plan that suits you. Read this and you will never need diet again!

The reason we all pile back on the pounds following a diet are down two simple reasons; a rapid return to old eating habits and lack of exercise rather, than the often blamed lack of willpower, according to a survey conducted by natural health guru, Maryon Stewart.

To lose those pounds and make sure they stay off we need a happy balance in our daily lives, as well as our diets, Maryon Stewart says.

Over 90% of those questioned in the survey admitted that they were stressed at home and at work, physically unfit, or felt unloved or had a poor self image and as a result cared less about their diet and alcohol consumption.

Maryon Stewart, the founder of the Natural Health Advisory Service (NHAS) maintains that all weight loss diets will fail in the long-term unless the underlying root cause of the problem is addressed. "It doesn't matter whether it's Atkins, GI or Weight Watchers, unless individuals are armed with the knowledge that will enable them to get their lives into optimum balance, they will regain the lost pounds within a relatively short period of time", says Maryon. "The same goes with the fad for New Year detox diets - they may achieve some results, but they are definitely not a long term answer".

This breakthrough research provides the key to successful weight loss at a time when in the UK alone some 57% of women and 55% of men are either overweight or obese. Obesity has reach epidemic proportion around the world - it's not just unsightly and makes mobility difficult; it is linked to serious conditions like prostate, breast and ovarian cancer, and cancers of the womb, kidney, colon, rectum, gall bladder and pancreas, as well as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Research at the Natural Health Advisory Service found that when a patient's life is out of balance, they feel down, quality of sleep decreases and so too does sex drive. When patients were helped to restore the balance in their lives by learning to meet their nutrient needs and given the tools to sort out their stress and emotional issues, they reported feeling considerably happier, their weight returned to normal for their height and remained stable, and the quality of their skin, nails and hair improved, as did their libido and self esteem.

"This is a tremendous breakthrough for dieters as at last they can arm themselves with vital knowledge that will open the door to natural weight loss as well as increased satisfaction with their lives and self-image, and at the same time dramatically improve their health prospects in the long-term", says Maryon.

As a result of the research findings, Maryon Stewart has put together a diet book with a difference, dubbed "The Real Life Diet" which is published by Piatkus this month, priced at £9.99.
